Hey guys and girls, new things in the works
Hello guys and girls, I have some big news in the works planned for this blog. First is that I will, in the next month, hopefully have a series of interviews with local bands. Along with that, I have started the process of getting to know who is in the local scene and will have videos, pictures, and such up as well. Now, with that said, the site may go dead from time to time, do not fret, this is temporary till I replace my computer (I know, still havn't done it, least I have a job now). That being said, I will stop doing these strange posts about my beliefs due to them being, in my opinion, uninteresting. Thank you to all who are patient with me, and I will get back to you soon.

Shout out to Billy!
You see that guy above there? That is Billy. Billy, I have to say, is one of the most impressive vocalists I have ever heard. Looking at the guy you would not expect it, but he gets louder than most people to using mics. I have to say, this guy is intense, and if anyone out there is looking for a vocalist in the Springfield Missouri area, look this guy up!

As Shadows Collapse
(Note: I love this picture, I wear this shirt all the time)
As Shadows Collapse, I have never moshed like I have to this band. I listen to these guys all of time time because their sound is catchy. I find myself singing their songs at times, and I look forward to when this band comes through Springfield. They are amazing, and have gone on to place fourth in the nation of three hundred in project independence and have took off like wild fire. With old favorites like Confirmed Kill and newer songs like Save One Bullet, their sound keeps getting better thanks in part to Travis on vocals, Matt on drums, Joe and Dusty on guitar, and Brandon on bass, they have the best line up for success in the genre. Their live songs are energetic, getting great crowd interaction, and the thundering sound that shakes the whole venue. Having opened for bands such as Whitechapel (two times at that) and Becoming the Archetype, their fan base is growing like crazy. With a new album coming out soon, I am really looking forward to seeing more of this band! http://www.facebook.com/pages/As-Shadows-Collapse/170373817074?sk=app_2405167945 give them a like if you have not already.

Resident Evil 6 (fan boy is happy)
YES YES YES FINALLY! Yesterday at 2 P.M. they announced Resident Evil 6, and a release of later this year, this is the first year that there will be two resident evils out in the same year, with Raccoon City coming out in March, and this game coming out in November, this year is the dream of any Resident Evil and Zombie fan, do in part that it appears from the trailer that they are bring back zombies, not the Las Plagas like the last two resident evils have had. I am not going to speculate, but watch the release trailer for yourself, and see the change in engine they are using.
Notice what Leon said, "This is Raccoon City all over again." ? I guess that this might mean that the T-virus is back, and so will the BOWs . They also seem to be implementing a mixture of Resident Evil 4/5 over the shoulder aim with the cover system and possible the move and fire of Raccoon City. There also seems to be three main characters, two of which are returning favorites Leon Kennedy and Chris Redfield, and possibly a third that is so far unnamed. It looks like this is a strong running for game of the year, in my opinion. It also from articles written will focus mainly on Leon in America with the outbreak in Washington, and Chris in China with BSAA with a similar threat there. This is going to be one of the best games out there this year. Look for it on shelves November 20th, 2012 for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3!

Ghost in Grey
Ghost in Grey, this band is probably one of the newest bands in Springfield that does not feel like a copy of some other band out there. I saw them when they performed at the Outland a while back, and I was blown away. Their sound is powerful, taking heavily from their inspirations without copying, and they keep it original. With their post-hardcore/metalcore/and just plain metal sound, give you crushing breakdowns, interesting and heavy riffs, and melodic choruses that appeal to people all around. This band has a amazing stage presence thanks in part to Jake Wells on vocals, Calin Montgomery, August Hosp, and Andrew McQueen on guitars, Jesse Herring on bass, and Derrick Graham on drums, which make a earth shaking experience that meaningful and will leave a impact on the people listening. As it says in their bio, they made the band to help others, and to never give up on their dreams. They are a inspiration, and I can see a lot of good things in their future. This band will be on tour this summer with The News Called It Homicide, Ominous Conception, and One Shall Betray. Check them out on Facebook http://www.facebook.com/pages/Ghost-In-Grey/176900809040999!

Ominous Conception
Ominous Conception, if I had to sum them up in two words, it would be F^^KING BRUTAL. I have been going to these guy's shows for a very long time, and I am a huge fan of theirs. Their sound shakes the earth to the very core, reminiscent of bands such as Cannibal Corpse, Skinless, Devourment, and Dying Fetus, they are one of the truly original ones in the Death Metal/Sludge Metal genre. The pits are brutal, with the combined assaults of the drums of Greg, The guitars of Zack and Robert, the bass of Adam, and the growls of Quentin, this band will not be stopped by any force on the planet. With a C.D. coming out and a tour this summer, the world is going to feel the full force of Ominous Conception. On the side also, all the guys from it are awesome, which is something that truly counts, they do it for the love of it, and they are not stuck on themselves, and with each show, they get better and better!
Hessian Crucible
Hessian Crucible, the brutal progressive death metal band is the masters at what they do. The vocals and guitars of Brandon Dorsey, with the bass of Joe Smith, and the drums of Sam Smith bring together one of the best death metal bands in the state, if not in the whole of the United States and further. With a heavy tone and growls, they make it looks easy with songs such as Shame Spiral they are bringing back the roots of true death metal, with sounds reminiscent of such bands as Behemoth, Atheist, Candlemass, and Celtic Frost, just to name a few, they have a sound that no other band can top in the genre. The thing that I am also impressed of is the fact that off the stage, these guys are some of the nicest people ever. This is a very important thing, because it proves that they are true artists and musicians, who are not stuck on themselves, and just have a love for the music they do. I am looking forward to seeing more of these guys this year! http://www.facebook.com/HessianCrucible?sk=wall give them a like!

Bands I have helped set up that I enjoyed alot in the last two years :D (Yes I enjoy the work most people call being a roadie)
Okay, anyone who knows me knows I love being able to help set up for events and stuff, and I wouldn't mind making a living out of it. So I thought "Hell, might as well give it a go and brag about who I have helped in the past".
Hessian Crucible: I loved helping these guys out. Brandon Dorsey is one of those people who its easy to talk to, Sam and Joe Smith are really cool to, tho I have not really had the chance to talk to them much. Go give em a like on Facebook http://www.facebook.com/HessianCrucible?sk=info!
Parallel 33: Wow, do I miss these guys. The lead singer, for the life of me I can not remember his name, is probably the nicest and coolest guy ever, and a pretty hefty modifier. Plus it was like pure Lamb of God style metal.
FinalDrive: I helped these guys out when they were at the Outland Ballroom the last time. They are really cool, and were awesome enough to give the under 21s outside free CDs and stickers for helping. Go like em on Facebook http://www.facebook.com/finaldriveband!
Within the Ruins: This was probably the proudest day of my life when Within the Ruins came around once a year ago, I got the chance to help them set up, and may I tell you, Tim is probably the most insanly awesome people I have ever met. http://www.facebook.com/withintheruins is there page, click like, now.
Besides those I have helped offload gear from the stage for several bands, I think close to twenty different ones. I have to say, helping the bands is almost as much fun as watching them. So go like the bands I linked and then listen to their sick music!

Stretching VS Gauging; The Great Debate
One of my pet peeves is when I see these hot topic kids talk about stretching their ears as gauging. You morons really do not know what you talk about. It is called stretching, not gauging. There is a reason for the misunderstanding tho, on the packages they buy with the tapers and plugs, it has something like 2g, which stands for 2 gauge. The American sizing for ear stretching is in gauges, like steel, till you get to the 7/16 in. This, in my honest opinion is laughable. It is much easier to to just use what everyone outside of hot topic and Spencer's use, the millimeter sizing. This way if they decide to go past the 00g (9-10 mm) they will not get laughed out of a conversation by a person who is a true modifier, who will look them in the eye and call them a MORON. Also, there are two more things, the first, the things you put in your ears after you stretch them, are not gauges, they are either plugs, tunnels, or on occasion pincers. The second is, if you are looking for information on stretching, please go to http://www.youtube.com/user/thekingflatland?feature=watch he has a video for everything from how to stretch to how to take care of organics. And if you are looking for some awesome stretching kits and plugs that will not break the bank, try his site http://www.kingsbodyjewelry.com/ .
The News Called It Homicide
Wow, where do I begin with this band. I have seen this band twice so far, and both times it blows me away. Their sound is progressive deathcore and groove slammed together in such a kick ass tone that it is sure to make your view on deathcore change. These guys have a sound that is like if Whitechapel, Within the Ruins, Despised Icon, Meshuggah, and All Shall Perish had a child. The tone is sick and heavy thanks to Spencer Manchester and Scott Ashley on guitar, Dusty Eckley on bass, Reed Arnold on drums, and Matt Woolery on Vocals. Their sound is very in your face and the licks are tasty as hell. Here is a sample in case you think I am blowing this out of my ass. (Look at the above in case you can not find it) See what I was telling you? these guys are a unstoppable force, that will be touring this summer (more information on that when it is available.) So go like their Facebook page (http://www.facebook.com/pages/The-News-Called-It-Homicide/109299545846485?sk=app_178091127385) and get ready to have the full force of TNCIH blast you in the face!
A little about me to begin with. (Did not wanna put a huge about me)
Just a little about me. I am 19 years old, which surprises people to some extent. I think it is because I look about 22 or 23. I play guitar, and video games most of the time. My favorite brand, and I do not care about what you think, is Dean, because you can get a really cool guitar, like a dean 7-string, which brands like Ibanez sell for $500+ you can pick up at Guitar Center for just $200 (http://www.guitarcenter.com/Dean-Vendetta-VNXM-7-String-Electric-Guitar-104911144-i1399888.gc) see my point? I love the local music scene we have here in Springfield, Missouri. There are so many bands here that are just plain awesome it is not even funny. Some just copy bands that are out there, and there are some really original ones (like my friends The News Called It Homicide http://www.facebook.com/pages/The-News-Called-It-Homicide/109299545846485). One last thing, I love helping local bands, when I can get to the shows. So if you want to hang out with me before a show, know I will most likely be around the back helping the bands get set up.
